Hello to Port Edgar! ⚓️ This week we came to this stunning anchorage and managed to conduct a Settlement Visit with some members of our ship’s company stepping ashore! 🌅

@EdinburghTrams@on_lothianbuses What an absolute shambles from @PoliceScotland. This is a very sad incident and thoughts go out to those affected but it is not proportionate to have the busiest street in Edinburgh out of action for the whole day! Trams could run straight through without stopping to serve Leith.
@maniaconfloor@SanctaFamiliaTV It follows that a person who says he believes in nothing (other than the supremacy of his own ability to think) holds that a human life is ultimately worth nothing. If humanity is just a meaningless crust on the face of the universe why should we care about protecting any of us?
@SanctaFamiliaTV A good point about equality - God loves us all, whether we want him to or not. That even includes the members of the "Humanist Society of Scotland"!
🏅We're excited @HeriotWattUni to have been awarded the highest badge of honour from @MinistryofDefence for our support to the Armed Forces community, in a ceremony at Edinburgh Castle. 🏴

I wonder why @TescoLeith are so keen to keep customers away by closing their Duke Street entrance. Grateful for more friendly options in the neighbourhood…
@DrFrancisYoung An fascinating resource - thank you!
One small point for further research: the reverse of this cigarette card (I know!) states that "in 1911 the then Archbishop of York preached the Coronation Sermon", so that element may well have been more recently abandoned than 1902.
@AshleyMasonYork@LyonCourt@Charles_Perrett HRH was patron of the NC for almost 70 years; HM’s hatchment now joins his as its most fitting companion. Mark also designed a Diamond Jubilee window for the club (alas not the design ultimately chosen) on the theme “Sixty Years Our Queen and Patron”.
