Context:

This was the post‑Ed Miliband contest.

Burnham was initially seen as a frontrunner, but Corbyn surged dramatically and won outright in the first round.

Burnham’s 19% placed him well behind Corbyn but ahead of Yvette Cooper and Liz Kendall.
