Bam! Bam! BAM! 💥 My book is way beyond all the modest stretch goals I set for it already. Everything else is just overflow gratitude now. Think we can get it into the Top 100? https://t.co/RKiMVZVb6f #books#amwriting#mentalhealth
Camillo Golgi received the 1906 medicine prize for discovering nerve cells could be stained with silver nitrate. This enabled Golgi and other researchers to make detailed studies of our nervous system, such as the ones pictured.

Emotional intelligence is not about avoiding strong reactions. It’s about being less reactive.
Reactions are hard to control—they’re rapid and visceral. Responses are easier to delay and modify.
A key to emotion regulation is expanding the distance between feelings and actions.
New research published this week in The American Journal of Psychiatry finds that the earlier and more rapidly adolescents use social media, the more likely they are to experiment with substances such as alcohol, tobacco and cannabis. https://t.co/esjhm40kFr
@BadreNicolas If market-based solutions actually fulfilled their promise of greater quality, innovation, availability and accessibility then I’d say commodify away. But alas here we are, more enshittified than ever
A new Science study shows that bumble bees can position a ball underneath a fake “flower” to reach a reward, suggesting they can exhibit spontaneous problem-solving and challenging the notion that such advanced cognitive abilities are exclusive to large-brained vertebrates.

The narrative that MAiD provides a peaceful, beautiful death every time is false.
One patient cried "help me" and showed signs of distress during MAiD. Bradley Stewart resumed breathing after being declared dead, leaving his family traumatized. In one study, one-third of family members described the MAiD death as traumatic.
Informed consent requires disclosure of complications and adverse outcomes, not just promises of a beautiful death.
