Saddened and at a loss for words at the tragic passing of one of England’s finest. My thoughts are with his family at this time. RIP Thorpey, you absolute legend of a man.
Congratulations on the most amazing career @jimmy9. Staggering, simply staggering. Irreplaceable and a role model to a generation of people, let alone cricketers.

The weather may have put preparations back by a week or so, but the 1st XI cricket square is looking stunning now the sun is shining. Great effort by the ground staff at Woollams. The first match, against Watford GS, is just over a week away.
Back in the day, this is how you found out you were picked for England. Stayed at my parents last night and mum dug out the ‘scrapbook’. I never actually played in this game (had to give the jumpers back) but a certain Mr Warne did who bowled ‘that ball’.
@edwardjg68 Yeah, I’ve been at St Albans School for about 11 years full time and then a few years prior to that as a part-time cricket pro in the summer. Absolutely love it. Great staff, great pupils and awesome facilities.
@IntercityFC@RAMACH280463 Great memory. It was second day. We batted first at Trent Bridge. The truth be known, I was nervous as hell and I thought it’d be easier to control a bumper!!!
