I’m so sorry to see that Michael Meadowcroft has passed away. My thoughts are with his family and friends.

I lost count of the number of conversations I had with Michael over the last four years on this issue. He was a dedicated public servant and community campaigner to the last. I’m so pleased that he and the group were able to achieve their ultimate objective and save the ground.

So pleased to speak at this year’s ‘Vision for Literacy’ event at KPMG in Canary Wharf. The event recognised the growing number of businesses that have signed a business pledge to improve reading and literacy in the National Year of Reading. (1/5)

I remain concerned that profit-driven algorithms are capturing and keeping children’s attention in ways we’ve never seen before, but I do appreciate the other views that have been put to me over the course of this consultation. (4/5)

Meta Ramsay was an indomitable woman. It was a privilege to serve alongside her as parliamentary chairs of LFI. She was a true friend to the Jewish community and she always stood firmly against antisemitism.

My thoughts are with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by all.
