🚨🦉 Important Announcement🦉🚨

A new friend of Sheffield Wednesday and the Supporters Trust, who prefers to remain anonymous, has been incredibly impressed by the outpouring of support for the effort to raise money for this important cause and has made an incredibly generous pledge to match every gift, up to £35,000 raised by supporters towards this effort.

We’re currently on £27,910, meaning we need to raise the final £7,090 to unlock the full £35,000 contribution.

If we do, a £35,000 supporter-led campaign becomes a £70,000 investment in Sheffield Wednesday supporters and young people across our community.

That means more season tickets, more match tickets, more mascot experiences, more shirts, and the chance to reach even more children who dream of being part of Sheffield Wednesday but may never otherwise get the opportunity. It means creating memories with parents, grandparents and friends that will last a lifetime, helping young people feel connected to their club, their city and their community. The donor has recognised just how important family and community are in Sheffield, and wants to help open the door for the next generation of Wednesdayites.

The donor recognised something we’ve all seen: when Wednesdayites are given the chance to help one another, they step forward. In discussing the donation, they impressed upon us a simple message:

“We’re All Wednesday Aren’t We?”

That spirit is exactly what Sheffield Wednesday is about.

This fanbase has already achieved something remarkable.

Now we have the opportunity to turn £35,000 into £70,000.

@ConnorMitch1867 Some adults fall on hard times through no fault of their own or simple can’t afford a ticket. I spent many years working full time but unable to afford match tickets.

The fund will remain open until 12th June, at which point we’ll sit down with @swfc and begin organising how the money is allocated to make the biggest possible difference.

A reminder that this isn’t just about large donations. Many of the contributions so far have been small amounts from ordinary Wednesdayites who simply want to help fellow supporters. £5, £10 or £20 soon adds up when thousands of us pull together.

Following requests from supporters wanting to contribute smaller amounts, the @SWFCTrust are proud to launch our community fundraising page in support of fellow Wednesdayites. 🦉

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to @swfc for their support in helping make this initiative possible. The Club has been instrumental in facilitating the scheme and we are proud to be delivering it in partnership, ensuring the process is both secure and accessible for supporters who wish to contribute.

This fund will be used in three key ways:

🦉 To purchase season tickets for supporters who may otherwise be unable to afford one, with recipients identified through a nomination process.

🦉 To support match ticket initiatives throughout the season, helping first-time attendees and supporters facing difficult circumstances experience Hillsborough.

🦉 Any remaining funds will go towards mascot packages or replica shirts for children who may otherwise miss out.

The response to this initiative so far has been absolutely incredible and once again shows exactly what this fanbase is all about.

No donation is too small. Every contribution has the potential to make a genuine difference to somebody’s connection with Sheffield Wednesday.
