Without facts, there's no truth. Without truth, there's no trust. I don't trust Twitter. I feel disgusted, discouraged, & sad every time I read Twitter. I follow our representatives to see what good they are doing, but am disappointed instead. They represent the worst of us.

The values I grew up admiring are being eroded. And, I believe social media plays an integral part in it. How can something so powerful be wasted? A platform like this one could amplify the best of us — as Lincoln said, "The better angels of our nature."

Real, fact-based debate & issues-based discussion isn't very sexy, I suppose. It doesn't generate "likes" & "shares" & ad revenue. Controversy does. Negativity does. MIT has done many studies about this. I'm sick to death of it all.

Twitter has no real exchange of ideas or debate of issues. Under the guise of "free speech," propaganda is being distributed freely and taken as fact. In its current form, Twitter is nothing but sensationalism, lies, & half-truths. I get no benefit from it.
