@flugempire This bill is like calling down an airstrike on your own position. That is how desperate the general college football world is right now. If you are not in a power 2 conference, you know you are doomed. So you might as well go for it.
@Brewenor@MurrDCU@flugempire Itโs the research money thatโs the life blood of academia. There is also an incredible peer pressure that exists between academic institutions. Breaking away from the NCAA would be a very bad look for some of these high academic institutions.
@MurrDCU@flugempire Good luck with that. Thereโs not a university on this planet that would go there if they lose tax exempt status. Even if they could retain it, Iโm not sure any of them would be able to tolerate the retribution in the academic world.
@flugempire It is very unfortunate for college football fans who donโt want to see complete destruction that this case happened now. This just reaffirms everything the breakaway voices have been saying.
@flugempire I donโt know if this is good legislation or not. But I have to say the Big Ten and the SEC have certainly lost the narrative versus the supporters of this thing.
@flugempire@CouzWalker If you read this thing in totality, it doesnโt stop a single school from leaving. It does perhaps stop a mass exodus like happened with the P 12 from happening.
