@RobynHitchcock@KomediaBrighton Oceanside? The English Channel might not technically qualify for that to be funny, but it is a truly groovy song and who's counting?
@TExplodes That review of Wilder holds up really well 40 years on. And Club Zoo sounds as nuts as it did back then. The live recording of Sleeping Gas is legendary now but really worth it if you've not listened. "Sleeping Gas is coming into land...."
Turns out that a cricket club in mid-Sussex I used to play against is, at 400 years old, the oldest venue in the country. This book https://t.co/HoY6nfftWgโฆ courtesy of @willard_watts
Sussex village cricket scorecard from 1984 when Horsted Keynes played Newick. Piers Pugh Morgan batting at 6 was out for a duck.. Not that my team Ashdown Forest CC did much better in those days (bowled out for 0 once which made the Daily Mirror).
Thanks @willard_watts
@theanalyst@willard_watts@willard_watts ...I also saw this one from 1984 when Horsted Keynes (pronounced as in "Cane" locally) played Newick. Piers Pugh Morgan batting at 6 was out for a duck!
@theanalyst Loved this - thank you - as much because I grew up near Horsted Keynes and played against them for Ashdown Forest CC up the road in Chelwood Gate. Delighted to see @willard_watts has uploaded some old scorecards from early 1980s with some old teammates on....
I post this quite regularly, but with very good reason as every time I do, a few people see it for the first time. Which is very important!
Any'ow.
Bowie does Yaaaaarksire.
Na then.
Back in the late 90โs, when Blair was chanting โTough on crime, tough on the causes of crime,โ @EdwynCollins would shout โFull imprisonment by the year 2000!!โ
"Well, Mrs. Miggins, at last we can return to sanity. The hustings are over, the bunting is down, the mad hysteria is at an end. After the chaos of a general election, we can return to normal."
"Oh, has there been a general election, then, Mr. Blackadder?"
#Blackadder
My friend and @STFTMBs sparring partner Tim Hincks has noticed that this looks like a 70s horror film where an unhappy child haunts the main character.
So @EdwynCollins How does it feel to have a Prime Minister who is an Orange Juice fan? @Keir_Starmer picked Falling and Laughing on Desert Island Discs.

@MichaelDaly64@DeuxProcess The Oxford buildings are the Mission Inn Hotel...quirky mock- Spanish architecture in an otherwise bland small city...stayed there a few years ago and rather enjoyed it.
