About 20 years ago, a 110-foot oak tree came down on my house and cut it in half.

The storm passed. The effects didn’t.

There were immediate decisions about safety and damage, followed by the slower work of figuring out what could be repaired, what needed attention, and how to get back to normal. That experience has stayed with me through every hurricane season since.

It’s one reason I started Hurricane Bug Out with Alex Diz.

We’re building a place where someone can ask a practical question and find a clear next step: How do I prepare my home? When should I leave? What belongs in the car? What should I check before returning home?

The site is live, and I’m still improving it page by page. If you live in a hurricane-prone area, work in emergency response, or have been through a difficult recovery, I’d value your honest feedback.

Take a look at https://t.co/5AbHCYU94h and tell me what would make it more useful when people are under pressure. Missing information, confusing navigation, a question we haven’t answered yet: I want to hear it.

A member of the French parliament is taking pictures with the rioters in the streets waiving Palestinian flags.

France’s government stands in solidarity with the ones destroying their country.

Betrayal.

I've seen people saying online that President Zelensky didn't spit at the feet of Sweden's King, Carl Gustaf XVI, after greeting the King earlier.

Certainly looks like he did to me and the look on the King's face seems to indicate that's what happened.

Discuss why Americans should be able to own Carl Gustaf recoilless rifles below accordingly... 😎🇺🇸

Elon Musk has reportedly invested a MASSIVE $1 BILLION into the Ellison family’s Skydance media empire, just weeks after the company acquired CNN.

How many CNN employees will quit after this?

I wanted a place to discuss the human side of hurricane recovery. This guide focuses on priorities, manageable tasks, rest, and support.
