Our thoughts are with all racialised communities and migrants who are being terrorised when they should be feeling safe.
When successive Governments and media dehumanise people with toxic language such as invaders or illegals, and champion cruel policies, the far right feels emboldened and legitimised.
It’s time our political leaders recognise how divisive language, and racist policies result in this violence.
The scapegoating and political exploitation of migrants including refugees must end, and our representatives as well as the Home Office must unequivocally stand with people who choose to rebuild their lives in the UK.
The government must take all precautions to ensure migrant and minoritised communities feel safe across the country and Parliament must be immediately recalled to prepare for a complete shift on narrative, policy and practice on migration.
The Bibby Stockholm's prison-like conditions fail every test of what asylum accommodation should be. We welcome its closure.
It's time to close all the barracks, hotels and sub standard housing still in use and properly fund local authorities to house refugees in communities.

Join this @RefugeeAction report launch and panel with @garyyounge@shabnabegum @migrants_rights @FrancesWebber5 @jthomasfournier on fighting racism in the UK asylum system.
Couldn't be more timely ahead of the Election.

Important intervention from MPs across parties today 👇
Inexcusable Home Office delays in processing cases shouldn’t stop asylum seekers from working and contributing.
Refugees make Britain better. https://t.co/ae9HsEJbk7
It's legal to claim asylum. People who have asked for help must not be treated this way.
This is an attack on everyone's rights. When universal human rights, like the right to seek safety, are undermined for anyone they're undermined for everyone.

I’m convinced many in politics and media still don’t understand some of these basic facts 👇
The impact of Point 5 - the new and needless build-up of tens of thousands more people stuck in the UK in limbo - has been wildly underestimated for months.
Now the Rwanda Bill has passed, more people will start looking into the scheme. When they do, they will see the abuse it entails.
Here's 5 things everyone needs to know. THREAD
