@rtenews No mention a few months ago when the RCP 8.5 - worse case climate modelling was scrapped by the IPCC. This climate model was used to justify carbon taxes among other measures
@Faithadedoyin_ @ProjectStrider Very true NFL is a single nation sport yet the winner are often referred to as the world champions. Easy to be a world champion when you are the only country playing the sport.
@Tobias_Smythe@billy_dorney State policy not to build nuclear, state policy to charge the same per kw\h for renewable energy as fossil generated energy, state policy to sign up for unattainable emissions targets, state policy to load carbon tax on energy to force people to change usage without alternative
@Tobias_Smythe@billy_dorney Ireland energy costs are a basket case. And this is primarily driven by government policy. Wages and other day to day household expenses absolutely impact on peoples ability to pay energy bills. And the government plan to pile even more carbon tax in to the mix.
@Tobias_Smythe@billy_dorney Energy prices have increased 70-80% in last six years. Food prices up 30-35% wages lag behind this by some margin in most sectors. People have child care costs (3rd highest in EU). Very normal families are impacted by this, but I guess they just have a problem with life…
@Tobias_Smythe@billy_dorney Hang on a second while I find the spare €10k behind my couch to do all those things. Even with grants they are simply unaffordable for a lot of people especially with the cost of living. 300k people already in arrears on energy bills but I guess they should just buy solar panels
@Tobias_Smythe@billy_dorney Not sure if YOU have seen but Ireland already has the highest electricity prices in Europe. A price that’s 40% above the European average. Not to mention electric Irelands parent company ESB having over €600m in after tax profits in 2025.
@Mickmac3210@rtenews They wriggle out of it by saying your discount rate remains the same and that is what your contract is for - not the base rate. It’s all extremely dodgy.
@willharvey89@aroundliv Oakwood Arms in Shannon years ago. It was an event for the local Kickboxing club and the usuals came and ruined it. No respect.
@Jerewire@WestHam_Central The fouls by Arsenal players in the West Ham players cause the keeper to be interfered with. They have been doing (and getting away with) this all season both attacking and defensive corners and free kicks. It’s not pretty and I don’t understand where they have been let down it.
@Reidesune@ChrisDFer@BBCMOTD It is the rule, and it was a foul today but the rule hasn’t been applied in other games this season and THAT is the problem here.
