@__LFF__@PeteSchaad I am an optimist by saying that TFC belongs in the CPL. I think they will really thrive. They just think don’t have the talent or sports metrics to make it in this league.
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad You just said that TOR burns through $$ and MLS will protect it. And now you say CAN teams cannot support league metrics. Which is it?? Can CAN teams survive in MLS or not?
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad That is not the case at all as I have nothing against the CPL. I was a fan of VWFC when they played at Swan guard and now at BC place. If I still lived in Toronto, then I would be a fan of TFC. And if I lived in Langley, then I would be a fan of VFC.
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad And so in the spirit of Peter’s original argument, all three Canadian MLS clubs should leave the league. And I was saying that is a very defeatist attitude. It sounds like we’ve come full circle.
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad Those are all rhetorical questions as I’m trying to follow your line of logic. Which brings me back to my original point of Peter being defeatist and negative.
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad The question is why bother at all then? The owner sells the team and is made whole. The team moves and that’s it. Why bother going through all the trouble to start up a new team?
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad Well, if that’s the case, then the MLS should force out all three Canadian clubs and be done with it. Why have any Canadian clubs playing in the US league at all?
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad It is an issue here and the issue is that the caps cannot maximize the revenue it’s not that they cannot afford being in the league. And I’m simply stating that the points Peter has brought up could hold true for all 3 Canadian clubs regarding the exchange rate and the climate.
@__LFF__@PeteSchaad That’s right they’re about $40 million short of a mid table MLS team in revenue. They are looking at all options and one includes purchasing BC placed, which has a very very low chance to succeed. The best would be to build their own stadium and the weather suits it here.
