It was once again a pleasure hosting the @yongenorthyork in-person Board meeting in the @CrownCRP Collaborate conference room at 5000 Yonge.
Great to see this becoming a tradition! Credit to the BIA and @WFGCanada staff for coordinating the perfect meeting venue.
This meeting also marked a bittersweet milestone as we said a heartfelt goodbye to our Co-Chair Pamela, who has served with dedication and distinction since the very inception of our BIA. Her contributions have helped shape YNY into what it is today. Pamela, thank you for everything! 🙏🥂💙

This week, we had the opportunity to bring together our corporate community and civic leaders for meaningful conversations about the future of @yongenorthyork and the important role this district plays in Toronto’s economy.
As Toronto’s second-largest office employment hub, Yonge North York continues to evolve as a key centre for business, transit, investment, and city-building. Discussions like these are essential to ensuring the district remains competitive, connected, and positioned for long-term growth.
Appreciative of everyone who contributed their insights and perspectives at the Yonge North York Office Sector Forum, and proud to help support conversations that shape the future of our business community.

Despite the chilly Toronto morning, an amazing turnout filled the streets for a fantastic cause!
I had a great time running the 2026 Sporting Life 10k in support of @Campfirecircle_. 💪🏅#SL10k
Asking questions is easy! 🙋🏻
What takes real work is listening, documenting, and turning feedback into meaningful solutions.
Important conversations on what matters most to our members took place, especially as many SMBs and commercial property owners continue to navigate a challenging economic environment.
Great turnout and strong engagement at this event, clearly a full house and a shared commitment to advancing our business communities. Many thanks to @TABIANews for organizing such a valuable forum, and to @MayorOliviaChow and her team for taking the time to engage directly with BIAs across Toronto.
This morning, the Yonge North York BIA, in partnership with @TABIANews, proudly hosted the annual Breakfast With The Mayor event at @NovotelNrthYork. The event brings together BIA members and City leadership to connect, share ideas, and strengthen our business community.
We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.
It was an action-packed week of productive conversations at WFG’s Canadian Home Office in Toronto’s @yongenorthyork (YNY) district.
A pleasure to welcome @alicianguyenwfg and her leadership team, and to spend time alongside @WFGCanada President @WFGRWilliams and the Canadian leadership team, reflecting on our recent successes and discussing the strategies and goals that will shape the road ahead.
Most importantly, we shared perspectives on how we can continue expanding access to financial literacy and long-term financial stability for underserved Canadians.
Helping more families gain the knowledge and tools to build secure financial futures remains a mission that unites all of us.

On this day in 1834, the Town of York in Upper Canada was officially incorporated as the City of Toronto - making Toronto 192 years old today!
The name Toronto comes from the Mohawk word “Tkaronto,” meaning “where there are trees standing in the water,” a reflection of the land and waterways that have shaped this place for generations.
Toronto is located on lands that are the traditional territory of many Indigenous Peoples, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat Nations, whose presence and stewardship continue to be central to the city’s story.
When Toronto was incorporated, it was home to approximately 9,000 people and elected its first civic government, led by its first mayor, William Lyon Mackenzie. Since then, Toronto has grown, changed, and welcomed people from around the world, evolving into the diverse, dynamic, and bustling metropolis we know and love today.

Grateful for the opportunity to provide a deputation yesterday at Toronto’s Planning & Housing Committee.
I spoke on the importance of recognizing @yongenorthyork as Toronto’s second largest office district — a critical regional employment and transit hub serving not just North Toronto, but surrounding communities across York Region.
Urban hubs derive their strength from concentration — of jobs, transit, amenities, and people. Protecting and enhancing that concentration through thoughtful secondary planning is essential to ensuring YNY remains competitive, vibrant, and economically resilient.
Thank you to Committee members and City staff for the opportunity to contribute to the conversation — and to Councillor @LilyChengTO for her motion supporting a strong focus on reinforcing Yonge North York’s role as a regional hub.
