@DavidEdgington This "pastor" should know that humans can’t properly digest paper because it’s primarily cellulose, and we lack the enzyme needed to break it down. Add in industrial inks, bleaching chemicals, adhesives, and coatings, and book pages become manufactured materials. NOT food.

@SpaceshipAddict Agreed. It’s is so compelling, but could have also been expanded. The 1st episode of this arc could see the beginning of the mysterious illnesses. 2nd episode, the illnesses become terminal, ending with the shocking alien reveal. 3rd episode, final confrontation and resolution.
@SpaceshipAddict YES!!!!! I love when Janeway pushes Takar against the wall in the brig, but then pulls back, recognizing that she has crossed a line. “Scientific Method” is one of those episodes that when it was on TV, I HAD to watch it! Seen it more times than I can count.
For those interested in screenwriting or TV storytelling, here is what a first pass at breaking an episode of STAR TREK: PRODIGY looked like.
(Yes, it’s my handwriting. Yes, I know it looks like the Zodiac killer wrote this.)
Leigh Brackett was born on this day 110 years ago. Brackett wrote the first draft of The Empire Strikes Back and remains the only woman who has a writing credit on a Star Wars film.
