@sachin_madaan Fingers crossed for you my friend. I’ve generally never faced this slowness issue. It’s just this contact book thing, for the first time ever. But it’s supremely annoying. Takes 3-4 times to pull up a contact after typing the name - contact & call list page.

IndiGo is now flying Mumbai to Amsterdam nonstop on a narrowbody Airbus A321XLR. At around 11 hours of block time outbound, it’s the longest scheduled XLR sector in the world. In 2023, IndiGo’s own CEO doubted the route was even feasible on this aircraft. Today it’s on the timetable.

The reason is strategic rather than commercial. IndiGo ended its damp-leased Norse Atlantic 787-9 operations on 25 October, and its A350-900s haven’t arrived yet. Leaving Amsterdam would have put its hard-won slots at one of Europe’s most constrained hubs at risk. The XLR is a placeholder that keeps the route and the slots alive until the widebodies take over.

The operating reality shows the limits. Airspace closures force a long detour, which stretches the flight to about 11 hours outbound and roughly 9 hours 40 minutes back. Payload limits cap sales at about 140 of the 195 seats, and frequency has been cut from a planned daily service to three a week so a single aircraft can fly the whole rotation. IndiGo is accepting fewer passengers and longer flights as the price of staying in the market.

The bigger shift is what the XLR means for the low-cost model. It lets an LCC open thin long-haul markets point-to-point without taking on widebody risk. IndiGo entered Mumbai–Amsterdam where KLM had been the only nonstop operator and stimulated demand. Its KLM partnership adds onward reach across Europe on top of its own large Indian domestic feed.

The caveat is that narrowbody long-haul works only while range, payload and passenger comfort stay within their limits. Push past them and the aircraft becomes a service trap rather than a disruptor. On this route the XLR is a bridge to the A350, not the end state.

Low-cost long-haul is no longer theory, but geography and geopolitics still decide what is commercially viable. Airspace has become a cost line.

At 6% inflation, ₹7.86 lakh received 30 years from now would have purchasing power of barely ₹1.36 lakh today.

And 7.86% YTM ≠ 7.86% guaranteed annual total return under every circumstance.

Compare total returns, after-tax returns and real purchasing power- not dividends against coupons.

Diversification is sensible. Comparing apples with oranges isn’t. 🎯

An agent has shipped four players from Gambia to Bhutan to play for Paro FC. The crazy thing is, these players have never heard of the country called Bhutan before but when the agent had brought the deal to them, they agree to play.

Passports were readied and all four of them moved from Gambia to Bhutan.

The four Gambian players had a massive goal contribution for the club and now Paro FC has won the Bhutan Premier League with each of the Gambian players expected to pocket at least $5000.

When asked if they loved Bhutan, they all chorused that they loved the country.

Bhutan isn't really a footballing nation but with $500 a month, it was enough to send something back home.
