@eltonofficial this is a long shot, but my dad was your bodyguard or looked after your security in Edinburgh 1975-76 I think. James Delaney. We lived in council flats in Broxburn and I remember a nice car picking dad up. He passed away two years ago .

Well. 1 year in2 lockdown. Last year I got back into my old trade (welding) and started re-cycle bikes. Taking old bike parts and making them into new bikes/.sports . It’s been a buzz so far. As a 2 time Olympian, it’s been good as a challenge! @chrishoy @BritishCanoeing

These athletes, of @TeamGB gave the best they could under the circumstances . If they had the same financial backing from 1984 the story would have been different.

I am not taking @SkySportsNews calling the Olympic team in Atlanta the team of shame!!! I had to work full time and train 2 times a day as well as pay a mortgage and support a family without any financial support to compete at these games. Shame on government not athletes!!

@Markdelaneyc1 @SkySportsNews As far as I’m concerned all of the people who competed for @TeamGB in any sport before Lottery funding are heroes. Ditto the governing bodies, coaches, and other support teams who were largely volunteers.
