@Pondfielder@JulieChangRE I bet it’ll come right back if you try.
If I want to take notes on a plane, I switch to cursive so it’s harder for people to read. 🥸
Doing some work to our apartments that requires knowing where the sewer line is.
Before having it scoped/traced, we asked the city sewer district about the placement. They provided the original permit application from 1915.
The handwriting is incredible.
Masonry friends, I was recently advised (structural engineer) to spray Salt Guard or Silane/Siloxane mixture on my older (1920’s) brick buildings to help repel water as he said old brick absorbs water like a sponge.
I know bricks are supposed to absorb some moisture, but I’m somewhat worried that it might have an adverse effect on the masonry spraying sealant on the brick…possibly like painting brick (brick faces start popping off).
What’s your experience here? Is this guy right?
@orthodoxmason@1000yearhouse@stevemouzon
@orthodoxmason No real issues. Had the engineer come out to help with structure issues with a pillar but we’re underpinning that to stabilize and rebuild front decks.
Multi-wythe load bearing buildings (3).
No moisture issues outside of needing tuck-pointing in a couple spots.
