Did you know that the first women to land on the Normandy beachhead in June 1944 were nurses of Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Nursing Service?
Their task was to establish a field hospital for 600 wounded soldiers.
They succeeded.
Please remember these heroines who saved lives:
82 years ago, on the beaches of Normandy, brave British and Allied forces changed the course of history forever.
We must never forget the service and sacrifice of those courageous men and women.
Our debt to them can never be repaid.

A true giant in journalism, Jon Snow has spent his life asking difficult questions and telling important stories.
Now, in sharing his Alzheimer’s diagnosis, he is helping others feel less alone and raising awareness of a condition that affects so many families.
@joshsimonsmp@RobKenyonReform Josh, he wouldn't have even been in the conversation if you and AB hadn't engineered a by-election. You might have lost your seat next time round, but now people who might have looked at alternatives are being forced to vote Labour to prevent Reform getting in...
@AndyBurnhamGM My point was more centred around overlooking the fact that he was in government for a long time. In Westminster for a long time. Mr Burnham worked happily in that system for many years with all of the perks that it brought. I don't remember him raising the need for change then.
@AndyBurnhamGM With respect you worked in the government when Peter Mandelson held senior ministerial positions. Saying that when you left Westminster 10 years ago, doesn't whitewash the many years you were part of that system.
@joshglancy So, he's not a serious challenger then if he's putting out compliments to Burnham (just in case). My issue is with his view that we need to be emotionally connected to the PM. Are we kids in his eyes? I need someone to lead,to make tough choices not easy popular fixes...
Do you use any of these rail services? Today they have entered public ownership.
🚈 Southern
🚈 Thameslink
🚈 Great Northern
🚈 Gatwick Express
Passengers will see improvements over the first 100 days, including:
✅ recruiting more drivers to reduce delays
✅ safer and cleaner toilets
✅ doubling trains to Gatwick Airport
We’re putting passengers first.
I promised we would fix our broken railways.
Today Southern, Thameslink, Great Northern and Gatwick Express return to public ownership. Run for the public good, not private profit.
This Labour government is putting passengers first.
@Mete_Hristovski@ellrowee@zecarloscosta@GazzettaFerrari@GiulyDuchessa To be fair to Ferrari, they developed their engine/turbo to the spirit of the regs - even when they pointed out clear flaws. Other teams ignored that. Who knows what they could have developed? They've already tweaked power regs to suit some teams & the start procedure
