Year 3 & 4 loved their beautiful Christmas dinner today! A huge thank you to our amazing Head cook, Jo, and the other fantastic kitchen staff. You really do go over and above for us all 🎄🎅🏼🤶🏻
We wrapped up our “Royals, Rebels & Religion” learning theme with a fantastic showcase! After spending the Autumn term learning all about the Gunpowder Plot, we celebrated with a bonfire, s’mores, hot dogs, hot chocolate and lots of chat about our favourite learning moments.
Dosbarth Willow tried their hand at stop motion animation. After choosing a scene from ‘The Gunpowder Plot’ the children used figures and a stop motion app to bring the story to life. Fantastic creativity and team work on display! 🎥🎬🎆
Dosbarth Willow loved investigating how liquids behave by making their own lava lamps! We used glass beakers and plastic bottles and compared the reactions with both! There were lots of bubbles, predictions and ‘wow’ moments as the reactions began! 🫧🔬
Using the Frobelian method; Dosbarth Willow explored natural materials, collecting sticks to weave wool and create beautiful poppies for Remembrance Day. A meaningful way to learn through nature and hands on creativity. #RemembranceDay#MakingTheMostOfEveryday
What a day! 🎉 Our whole school baked, danced and beamed with pride raising money for Children in Need. Each class contributed to a bake sale linked to their learning theme this morning, and this afternoon we danced our way through the decades! 🕺🍰 💛 @BBCCiN#ChildrenInNeed
Children in Need 2025 marks an incredible 40 years of raising money to help those who need it most! To celebrate, our whole school dressed up in four different decades. Dosbarth Willow were transported back to the 90s — and they didn’t disappoint @BBCCiN
This week we made toffee and chocolate covered apples ready for our school ‘Children In Need’ bake sale. We linked our baking to our learning theme ‘Rebels, Religion and Royalty’; as what’s more traditional than eating toffee apples to commemorate the gunpowder plot?!
Today, our school came together for a heartfelt Remembrance Assembly. We paused to honour the courage, sacrifice, & selflessness of those who served & to remind ourselves of the importance of peace.

As it’s Autumn, we collected seeds to plant our own pumpkins in the Spring. The best part? We baked our own pumpkin pies! 🥧
Who’d have thought Autumn could be so delicious?
Wow, what a start to our new learning theme ‘Religion, Rebels and Royalty’ with an explosive immersion day. We can’t wait to learn all about the ‘Gun Powder Plot’.🧨🎇
Dosbarth Willow has spent the last two weeks, learning all about our Welsh heritage and NHS Heroes. We’ve discovered the inspiring stories of Betsi Cadwaladr, Aneurin Bevan, William Price & Thomas Lewis. They were true champions who shaped healthcare for us all! #NHSHeroes
We had such a fun afternoon taking part in Roald Dahl activities. We acted out scenes from our favourite books, and created obstacle courses during our
PE session linked to three of Roald Dahl’s well known books #RoaldDahlDay2025
We used so many skills to end our learning theme! We learned how locally produced products can make delicious foods that we enjoy every day! Our business studies skills were definitely put to good use, helping make our pop up stall in the School’s ‘Markham Market’ a HUGE success!
What a wonderful afternoon taking part in the school’s ‘Markham Market’. We had so much fun showcasing our Learning Theme in our pop up shop. We sold jam, butter, ice cream & lemonade which we made in class and sold to the rest of the school. 🛒🛍️
What a great Summer Trip to Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm. We had so much fun looking at all the animals and spending time together. A wonderful way to end our time in Year 3 😃🥰
