Y4 sold out all their wonderful photos from our Rivers and Rainfall theme as well as all of our watermelon ice lollies on our outdoor market stall today! Thank you to all our customers for supporting our enterprise! ๐
Like the Impressionists, we investigated how the light outdoors changed throughout the day (and captured images using an iPad). We have begun to create our own artwork using acrylics, pastel or watercolour based on Monetโs art๐จโ๐จ๐จ
We used a range of sources including diagrams, videos, books and online information to find out how the water cycle works. Working with partners, we gathered information and shared what we discovered with the class, before writing an explanation.
We have been waiting for the rain for our work on our new theme "rainfall and Rivers"! Today we took the opportunity to go out in the rain and take some photographs in our yard and garden. We will be using them for future tasks. Watch this space!โ๏ธ
Y4 โRivers and Raindropsโ theme immersion day : We listened to music, looked at rainy works of art and created our own, investigated the longest rivers in Wales, read and wrote rainy day poems, built bridges to cross rivers and wrote about our own river adventures despite the โ๏ธ!
We celebrated the 80th Anniversary of VE Day today, enjoying colourful ice cream soda and cake! We listened to news reports and first hand accounts and then planned and created art work to commemorate the occasion.๐ฌ๐ง#VEDay80
Today we used our open ended questions to interview a nurse and find out all about her job, linking with our theme. Thank you Mrs Powell for giving up your time to chat to us. Some of us have been inspired to work for the health service in the future๐ฉโโ๏ธ
Perfect weather for a PACT session!๐Y4 colour mixed to try to capture the colours in the garden, planted seeds following Welsh instructions, created labelled skeletons and added organs as well as taking part in a library challenge! We all had fun! ๐ฆ
Today we worked as a team to demonstrate how the human digestive system works using a range of items including a pair of tights to represent the small intestine! We began to create videos and iMovies as well scripts so that we can explain, using our oracy and IT skillsโฆ..
We have been investigating the human body. Today we created a schema, sharing ideas about how we think the lungs work. We then read to find out more information and identified our misconceptions. Finally, we could tell a partner how the lungs work๐ซ
We joined in with the live read for @WorldBookDayUK . We found comfy ways to read and thought about which fiction and non-fiction books weโd like to read more of ๐๐
Today we listened to mythical music and investigated a range of images to discover more about myths. We decided on 3 characters and created an oral myth about them, working in pairs.

Today year 4 have been learning about ways to keep themselves safe online.
Miss Price has taught us how to recognise and protect ourselves and others from scams online. ๐ฉ๐ป๐ฒ
Y4 have been investigating skeletons. They took on the challenge of using paper and 1m of tape to create a structure strong enough to support an apple. We realised that hollow tubes work best but they need a support system, like leg bones with feet. Well done E, I and B!
Y4 immersion day for our new theme, Blood, Bones & Gory Bits! We have created a model of a heart to pump blood, investigated the bones in the skeleton, created moving hands, used IT, read books & played games to help us begin our learning journey๐ฉป๐ง ๐ซ
