Posted on behalf of Spartan Metals Corporation - Yesterday the White House signed an executive order pushing defense contractors off foreign-sourced critical materials, on a hard Jan 1, 2027 clock. For a 100%-US #tungsten story, @SpartanMetalsCo $W $W.v $SPRMF is worth a look.

Settlement Layer

The part that decides whether a venue survives its first bad day is settlement order. Ours is fixed in bytecode.

Open 1 share, 10x. Notional N, initial margin IM = 0.10 N, so posted margin m = 0.10 N. Taker fee 0.10 percent of N.

On close, the contract computes:

**settled = margin + PnL - funding - fee**

Then it branches:

**settled <= 0: payout 0, the margin flows to the backstop. Loss is capped at what you posted, never more.**

**0 < settled <= margin: you get settled, the remainder returns to the backstop.**

**settled > margin: profit = settled - margin, and payout = margin + min(profit, backstop).**

Read that last line twice. Your principal is senior and is always returned first.

Profit is junior and paid only to the extent the backstop can fund it. If it cannot, the profit is trimmed, never anyone else's deposit.

No position on the book can be raided to pay another trader's win.

Most venues do the reverse and call it auto-deleveraging.

Two weeks ago "programmable stocks" was a sentence in a press release. Here is what one small dedicated team built on your chain since, working in public the whole time:

We made a stock into money. Not collateral for a dollar bet. Money. There is a live market on @RobinhoodCrypto where the QQQ token is the margin, the unit of every price, and the thing winners get paid in. Bet that NVDA beats the Nasdaq, win, and you simply own more of the index. That had never existed anywhere, on any chain, until this week.

Then we did it with a Treasury. The T-bill ETF token is now the money of a second market. This one is older than DeFi: it is how the world's clearinghouses have always worked, T-bills as margin, rebuilt from scratch in a contract anyone can read.

Then we built the machine that makes them. One function call now creates a complete market denominated in any tokenized asset with a @chainlink feed. @RobinhoodCrypto lists an asset, @chainlink prices it, and it is one transaction away from being a venue. Two hundred stocks today. Bonds, commodities, whatever comes next.

Every contract matches its published source byte for byte. Solvency is checkable by anyone with one call: the vault's balance always equals margin plus backstop plus pending, exact. No trader's margin ever pays for someone else's win. Nobody has to trust us, and that is not a slogan, it is the math.

This is what "programmable, globally portable, always available" looks like when someone actually programs it.
