What word should I do next?

Design wordplay inspired by one of the internet’s greatest contributions: cats.

For this one, I let the C become the cat itself, with the letter naturally forming the body from behind.

After the feedback on my first concept, I went back and explored two more directions: B and C.

The goal? Find a better balance between the geometric feel of Instagram’s new wordmark and the handwritten personality of the old one.

Instagram has a new wordmark

As a designer, I have thoughts. The “r” almost disappears, the “g” feels unbalanced, and the mix of script and geometric letters feels inconsistent.

So I made my own take: cleaner, but still Instagram.

Evolution > revolution.
