@ChrisJansing@gabegutierrez Ms. Jansing, I heard you today refer to the President Biden as "Mr. Biden." Disrespectful and unprofessional. The proper way to refer to him is "President Biden."
@Toadspotter32 The Charles Atlas ads always said that his training system involved no need for weights or other apparatus. Atlas never sold exercise devices of any kind, including this one.
@DMRegister A few months ago I canceled my Sunday Register subscription. You kept charging me for digital (even though that should have been cancelled too). So I canceled my digital, BUT YOU ARE STILL CHARGING ME! Stop it or I will sue you in small claims court. I'm serious.
Marjorie Merriweather Post told her husband she wanted a little cottage by the sea. She ended up building Mar-a-Lago instead. Nancy Rubin Stuart shares more stories about this remarkable heiress and philanthropist.

Hey @GeneralMills and @Chocula and everyone! I was a kid in 1971 when Count Chocula was introduced! I ate a bowl of it on Halloween morning that year -- AND EVERY HALLOWEEN SINCE! This morning I had my 53rd annual bowl of Count Chocula on Halloween morning!
@TaylorOSoule I used to teach political science courses evenings at a local college. Once, I gave the students a research project & gave them the phone number of the Legislative Information Office at the State Capitol. Instead, I accidentally wrote my home phone # on the white board!
@Godfly__@KittyGrumble@hessenjunge76 It happens. There were those stretchy chest exerciser units being sold in ads in comic books the same time that the Charles Atlas ads were running. Memory is a weird thing, it alters and edits over time.
@ElvingJack@starwolf_oakley@PrathamAjila Your "Snake oil" comment indicates you've never actually tried the Charles Atlas course. I bought it as a teenager and have done the exercises for about 40 years. I do 100 push-ups a day and I'm in my early 60s.
@harryhenry6@ElvingJack@starwolf_oakley@PrathamAjila Charles Atlas started selling his course in 1929. Doc Savage magazine #1 was published in February 1933 (cover date March, but on sale in Feb.) Likely, Lester Dent was inspired by Altas when writing about Doc's muscle-vs-muscle workout routine.
@Jess_Plummer Just read this article and your article about the longest running comic strips. FYI, I produced a documentary film about the creator of Alley Oop: https://t.co/JPbDM2z2aW
