I completely agree they're good for the short term. There's also other types of traffic calming that can be added in the short term!

@tanktotriumph @_MarkSutcliffe There is plenty of data if you bothered to look. Many of the cameras have only been in place for a short period of time anyways so to claim we'd somehow have tons of data from them is ridiculous, it's not like 10 kids are dying every year on each road to begin with.
