@bgbolger@Osinttechnical On the goal, we can agree. On the funding... good luck. But many are all for it. The UN and NATO both are shells of their former selves. A reset is overdue.
@bgbolger@Osinttechnical You mean mistakes like underwriting most of the cost for defending Europe for 70+ years? We are in the process of correcting that mistake, which I suspect is why your biker shorts are in a bunch...
@realMaalouf I can't believe this little-kid-slap came with an adult content warning... Good on this guy for doing something about it, but honestly, no adult content warning needed.
🇺🇸 July 2nd — The U.S.’s Almost Independence Day🇺🇸
During the American Revolution, the legal separation of the thirteen colonies from Great Britain in 1776 actually occurred on July 2, when the Second Continental Congress voted to approve a resolution of independence that had been proposed in June by Richard Henry Lee of Virginia.
The resolution declared the United States independent from Great Britain's rule. After voting for independence, Congress turned its attention to the Declaration of Independence, a statement explaining this decision.
One day earlier, John Adams had written to his wife Abigail:
“The second day of July 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.”
@JewishWarrior13 What if the mayor of another large city opposed Syria as an Arab state? Or Qatar? Or the UAE? This delusion has reached ridiculous levels of insanity and intellectual dishonesty.
@FightofFaith@farmingandJesus You know, except where there is no written word and Holy Spirit is the only one bringing conviction that leads to repentance… Other than that, sure.
@trumplicans2024 Don’t forget that the British government’s guns also fired one shot per minute. Parity with tyranny is the goal. Not arbitrary metrics.
@Larsandthegirl@visegrad24 First mention of Israel. Might be a record. But here they are irrelevant. Iran is using them as an excuse to avoid the peace deal with the US. This is about the Arab states on the Arabian Gulf and Iran’s random attacks on civilian ships that are unrelated to the US (or Israel).
Sounds like they are setting you up for litigation, so inaction may do more harm. Get on the record with the truth. Or, tell them your contractor keeps getting high at work from their shop and that’s why it’s taking so long and costing you more money… ask them to help pay for the paint.
@Namensen@visegrad24 The blockade was more about mitigating Iran’s attempts to dominate the straight and exert unilateral control over it in violation of international law.
@Namensen@visegrad24 Iran has boarded civilian vessels and taken possession of them, redirecting them to Iranian ports. Not unlike the Barbary pirates of old. They used threats and actual violence to illegally capture vessels outside of their territorial waters. That is piracy.
@bg108a@visegrad24 Way to intentionally miss the point and deflect at the same time. Those aren’t Iran’s waters. They have no right to warn anyone to stay out.
@ilsole404@visegrad24 Might be oversimplifying it. Spending blood and treasure abroad is about the gutsiest thing an American president can do. But the fortitude to see it to completion is key, and what completion looks like here hasn’t been established yet - though we know what we want it to be.
