I believe it is important to remember that everyone involved had lived their own life up to that day. Many of those lives would continue -- shaped by the experiences of D-Day -- but some would not. As the sun sets on the WWII generation, it falls on us to preserve their history.
Today, the 80th anniversary of D-Day, I hope everyone can take a moment to respect all of those who were involved. Thousands of young troops, supported by millions back home, faced something that few can truly understand today.
