Nintendo did re-release some cards with update patches, e.g. ACNH sw2 Edition, with 3.0 patch bundled in card. My guess, you won't be able to launch "old card" after, even in this scenario there was no "update" being done.

But guess it still makes sense since you proved your switch 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘶𝘱𝘥𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥, why would anyone go this far just to launch outdated game, besides speedrunners?
