Sadly, a large amount of modern worship music sounds like a bunch of kids grew up going to church in the 90s, never fully understood the gospel, then starting writing ‘spiritual’ songs when they got older.
However, orthodox theology produces God-glorifying doxology.
@brookeperkns @kelseyelaine_ You’re making a good point with this statement. One of favorite podcasts often says “bad theology hurts people.”
That’s what’s happening here.
@brookeperkns @kelseyelaine_ Agreed. Although, I’ve researched and listened to many people who bring attention to the theology at Bethel. It is MORE than problematic, especially when circumstances like this arise. I fear it may lead to this poor family questioning their faith altogether.
There is a difference between going to a service “for the worship” and going to a service “to worship the Lord.” The distinction appears to be a minor one, but it may imply the difference between the worship of God and the worship of music!

It’s apparent that I need to get ahold of ‘Love Thy Body’ thanks to @SummrWrites
Any episode of Sheologians that mentions it makes me want to read it immediately.
Bringing Frodo to the gates of Mordor, then mowing the lawn. I absolutely love these accounts of Tolkien’s days writing Lord of the Rings. A reminder that great art is made on a normal Tuesday afternoon.
Popular theology
• Man is inherently good
• Everyone will go to heaven
• Look to your inner-self
• Jesus isn't necessary for salvation
Biblical theology
• Everyone has sinned.
• You must be born again.
• Deny yourself.
• Jesus, I am the way, truth, life.

Thankful for the faithful men of @docanddevo for their perspective on the JMac and BMoore debacle.
Let us all take more time to consider these things in Christian love, remembering that rebuke of a brother or sister in Christ is often necessary.
Sometimes Christian twitter gives me a headache. 🤦🏼♀️
The bickering, the gracelessness, the merciless name calling over secondary issues.
Calm down. Read your Bible, y’all.
The world will know us by our LOVE.
Our Lord has
many weak children in His family,
many dull pupils in His school,
many raw soldiers in His army,
many lame sheep in His flock.
Yet He bears with them all, and casts none away.
Happy is that Christian who has learned to do likewise with his brethren.
