@thereelzacbrown What would be the point of acquiring one of the best pitchers in baseball? It's not a guarantee of anything, but it gives you a better chance to compete w/ the Dodgers in the post-season. For an org that has a stacked farm system, they can give up a few and take a swing this yr.
“They’ve got the #1 farm system in the game. They have prospects on top of prospects.”
@Ken_Rosenthal talks about if the Brewers will be aggressive at the trade deadline, and has more on the Mariners upcoming 6-man rotation.
Some call it boring. I’d call it anything but. Watching this brand of baseball from the #Brewers is FAR more exciting than waiting around for a mammoth HR. Sure, it would be nice to mix in the long ball more. But this is constant action and as a result, constant fun.
Fun fact: with a $127.9M payroll, the #Brewers are currently paying $4.127M per victory (31 as of this tweet). Meanwhile, the #Cubs are paying $7.577 per for their 29 wins ($219.7M payroll) and the #Mets are paying a whopping $15.21M per win (22) with their $334.65M payroll.
Here's a naïve question: in the age of legalized gambling, how does the NHL get away with not disclosing injuries beyond "upper body" or "lower body"? Meanwhile, if an NFL team fails to properly list someone on the injury report, there are calls for an investigation 🤷♂️
With Amazon Prime, you REALLYYY have to want to watch the NBA Playoffs these days. Gone are the days of stumbling upon a game and deciding to stick around.
@scfan33 Yeah, there certainly seems to be a correlation between his arrival and the team’s demise but I haven’t followed closely enough to know if there’s actual causation there. It wouldn’t be the first time with him though!
@scfan33 That one will sting for a bit given they were in position after two periods! They needed to capitalize with a second goal earlier given all the SOGs they had.
Then there's there looming question of who replaces him? Perhaps I'm missing someone, but there aren't any obvious candidates (don't tell me Troy Vincent wants to leave the NFL league office for the chaos of college athletics). Does UW go the way of a search firm?
Safe to say a lot of fans aren't high on McIntosh given the state of UW Football but you have to wonder if his departure says something about the current state of the department. Primarily, is UW in position to compete financially going forward? If not it's a no-brainer to leave.
Massive news for the Badgers.
