Had he survived, today, on 2nd December 2021, Anthony Nolan would have turned 50 years old.
His mum, Shirley, tirelessly campaigned to create the world's first stem cell register. Ever since it's helped match patients needing lifesaving stem cell transplants with their donors.👇
Our @NewcastleMedSch student Vicky will run the London marathon with her bone marrow donor to raise awareness of @AnthonyNolan and inspire others to sign up to the bone marrow register. Watch the @BBCLookEast report 👇https://t.co/WobmKHZW2a
Today we remember the remarkable Alice Byron. 🖤
Five years ago today she passed away, but her legacy continues to have an incredible impact on the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.
Here’s her story. 👇
**MEGA** We managed to sign up 103 students this week!!!
Big thanks to our amazing executive committee for making sure our events ran smoothly and safely!! 💙💙
We have some fantastic news to share! Our wonderful CEO, @HennyBraund, has been awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for services to stem cell transplantation. Congratulations, Henny - we are so proud to work with you! 💚🖤
