Union MoS Tokhan Sahu Visits Champhai, Mizoram Interacts with Scheme Beneficiaries.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Shri Tokhan Sahu, visited Champhai, Mizoram today, holding a meeting with heads of government departments and NGO leaders at the local Circuit House.
Organized by the Champhai DC Office and chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Lalbiakfela, the event welcomed the Minister with traditional Mizo cultural performances. In his address, Minister Sahu expressed his delight at the region's natural beauty and grand reception. He emphasized the importance of preserving cultural heritage, noting that the Prime Minister also deeply values and encourages these traditions.
Highlighting the central government’s special focus on the Northeast, Sahu pointed to visible development in the region, particularly in railway and aviation connectivity. He assured that efforts will only increase moving forward to ensure Mizoram's continuous progress and to strengthen the vision of "One India."
Following cultural showcases and a vote of thanks by District Urban Development Officer Ngurzaṭhuama, the Minister concluded the program by directly interacting with local beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) and the National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM).
