I received several reactions to the discussion I hosted about how nuclear weapons may be used against Europe to restore deterrence. To be clear, this is not a normative argument about what I think should happen or what I think is just. My argument is what I think will happen. European leaders have become so deeply involved in the attacks on Russia that the Kremlin is under great pressure to restore its deterrence.

Once Russia retaliates with conventional weapons against European targets (weapons facilities, logistics centres), the Europeans will more forcefully attack Russia. At this point, I believe that it is more likely than not that Russia could launch a limited nuclear strike (with tactical nuclear weapons, not strategic). This should not be a controversial prediction. NATO countries are doing the war planning; their intelligence agencies are doing the targeting; their contractors are pulling the trigger; they are supplying the long-range weapons; and they are also using NATO territory to strike Russia. This will only escalate as the Europeans are talking about mass-producing long-range weapons for "Ukraine" to strike deeper and deeper inside Russia, and are setting dates for when Europe will directly attack.

Our political leaders are obsessed with defeating the world's largest nuclear power, which considers itself to be fighting in a war for its existence. It should worry us that our political leaders did not define what a NATO victory looks like in this scenario, and we should also be worried that our political leaders have incrementally become so directly involved in attacks on Russia and still pretend it is merely a war between Russia and Ukraine. Our political leaders sabotaged both the Minsk peace agreement and the Istanbul agreement, and then shut down all diplomacy for more than 4 years while declaring that "weapons are the path to peace". It is obligatory in Europe to pretend this is about "helping Ukraine", but this is dangerous self-delusion.

Where exactly did we think this was heading? Is nuclear war not the obvious end? Can anyone imagine it ending in any different ways if we had done this during the Cold War or if Russia were now similarly attacking the US through a proxy? Biden once said that sending F-16s meant World War 3, yet now it has become controversial to point out that NATO clearly crossing the line between proxy war and direct war will trigger a nuclear war. I see no morality in such self-delusion. NATO escalations are now out of control, we are heading to war, and that war will not be limited to conventional weapons. The fact that this is dismissed as a "pro-Russian" argument demonstrates how completely lost we have become in mindless war propaganda.

CO₂ does not control the climate. It never has. It is not the master dial of the Earth’s temperature, nor is it the architect of our modern anxieties.

Carbon dioxide doesn't cause excessive rainfall, droughts, or the collapse of coastal cliffs. Nor is it responsible for the fractures in human society—terrorism, urban violence, obesity or the drug crisis. These are the products of a human civilization that has survived its own annihilation by the narrowest of margins, persisting for 300,000 years largely through a stroke of cosmic luck.

Yet, for four decades, a relentless climate war has force-fed the world a diet of crisis and warming hysteria. It insists that CO₂ is the root of all evil—that it is our fault and it is the gas's fault. But the truth is indifferent: CO₂ doesn't care. It is not demonic. It is not pollution. It is the foundation of life on Earth.

Without it, Earth would be a silent, sterile rock, inhabited only by bacteria. It was CO₂ that empowered cyanobacteria to unlock the miracle of photosynthesis, slowly flooding the world with the 'waste product' we call oxygen. Before this, the oceans were dark with iron, the skies were not blue, and the world was effectively lifeless. We should be thankful for this gas of life, rather than inventing doomsday scenarios to vilify it.

If we look at the true scale of our planet, the single greatest factor affecting Earth’s geology is tectonic continental flow. This slow, majestic dance of crustal plates shapes our continents and redirects the great ocean currents. This is nature at work.

Today, CO₂ is a mere trace gas at 427 ppm (0.04%). While it is a mighty driver for biology, it is at some of its lowest levels in planetary history. During the Cambrian Period, concentrations were upwards of 4,000 to 8,000 ppm. If those massive levels did not trigger an 'irreversible environmental collapse', it is illogical to assume today’s trace amounts will.

Furthermore, water vapor remains the dominant greenhouse gas, reaching concentrations of 40,000 ppm (4%) in the tropics. It is responsible for the vast majority of the greenhouse effect, yet it is sidelined in favor of the carbon narrative.

History matters. For hundreds of millions of years, CO₂ has not been the deciding factor in global temperature. Homo sapiens evolved during the Late Cenozoic Ice Age, which began 34 million years ago when Antarctica became entombed in ice. Our entire history has unfolded within the Quaternary glaciation, surviving 100,000-year cycles of icehouse conditions.

Almost every meaningful invention, every empire, and every leap in human progress occurred within the brief, warm window of the Holocene. We have never not lived in an ice age. We have survived global upheavals before, but we may not survive a self-imposed collapse into a new medieval dark age driven by ideological fear.

Vanaf 10 juli 2027 is precies dit moment illegaal, zodra het geld naar de woning gaat. Niet omdat jij iets fout doet. Maar omdat Brussel heeft besloten dat het niet meer mag.

Ik heb de afgelopen 18 maanden bekeken. Vier verordeningen. Een patroon.

Zomer 2024. De AML-verordening 2024/1624 wordt aangenomen. Contante bovengrens 10.000 euro. Vanaf 3.000 euro identificatieplicht bij de handelaar. Boetes tot 40 procent van het bedrag. Strak ingevoerd op 10 juli 2027. Contant geld tussen familie en vrienden blijft toegestaan. Maar het moment waarop geld de economie in gaat - auto, woning, sieraden, goudhandelaar - wordt vastgelegd, gedocumenteerd, gecentraliseerd.

April 2025. De EU-Commissie start "Going Dark", later hernoemd tot "ProtectEU". In juni 2025 volgt het plan. Zomer 2026 moet de wetgeving komen die VPN-aanbieders dwingt data op te slaan. No-log-VPN's worden in Europa illegaal. Mullvad heeft in december 2025 publiek aangekondigd: Als dit doorgaat, verlaten ze de EU-markt. Anoniem internetgebruik - afgeschaft.

Lente 2026. De chatcontrole wordt officieel versoepeld. Kop in elke krant: "EU stopt massasurveillance." De waarheid in de kleine lettertjes: De "vrijwillige" scan-toestemming voor aanbieders loopt door, tweede verlenging net goedgekeurd. Patrick Breyer waarschuwt al jaren: Wat als "vrijwillig" wordt verkocht, wordt verplicht zodra de infrastructuur er staat. De infrastructuur staat er. Niemand praat er nog over. Precies dat was het doel van de vertraging.

Juli 2026. MiCA-fase 2 wordt volledig van kracht. Elke crypto-platform in de EU heeft een CASP-licentie nodig. Travel Rule streng, naam, adres, geboortedatum bij elke overdracht vanaf 1.000 euro. Stablecoins zoals USDT zijn in de EU regulatoir klaar. Niet omdat de markt dat wilde, maar omdat Brussel geen concurrentie duldt voor de digitale euro, die parallel in aantocht is.

Einde 2026. EU-brede leeftijdsverificatie in alle 27 lidstaten. Pseudonimiteit op internet - verleden tijd. Wie wat reageert, wie wat leest, wie wat bekijkt. Alles gekoppeld aan je identiteitsbewijs.

Kijk er nog eens naar.

Contant geld beperkt. Crypto geïdentificeerd. VPN omzeild. Chats geopend. Internettoegang geketend aan je persoonlijke ID. Wie heeft nog een achterdeur over?

Niemand. Precies dat is het plan.

Dit is geen toeval. Vier verordeningen, precies na elkaar gelegd, elke voor zich onschuldig gerechtvaardigd, witwassen, kinderbescherming, veiligheid, consumentenbescherming. Allemaal samen een kooi. Geen open debat, geen volksraadpleging, geen noodrem. Jij wordt niet gevraagd. Jij wordt ook niet gewaarschuwd. Jij wordt dichtgemetseld, verordening na verordening.

Ik vertel het je, omdat niemand anders het samenhangend zegt. De meeste media laten je steeds één steen zien en noemen hem redelijk. Ik laat je de muur zien.
