@ilyse_the_beast@freudiana_gamer And yeah... the whole premise is cooked.
People will avoid this game now. I would. It's not that interesting to be worth the negative association I have for it now.
A parry, riposte with a cut or a thrust game + dagger or buckler (but same drama)... I'm in! But for this? Pass!
@ilyse_the_beast@freudiana_gamer I saw a clip of a game with this woman fighting a flower monster with a sus-looking sword (I commented on the sword, like I did to you above).
The next second I find this is a God of War (what?) game and get these posts about sex and looks.
I can't get rid of this topic now. π
@ABodorics "...imported from China at great cost."
Man! I thought I was just fighting a drunk in the local tavern! I am so screwed! π«
Quick, make me a munition grade sabre/dussack... I need to head for the woods and start my life as an outlaw. π
@MonsieurSansFoy It is indeed for seeking gaps in the armour.
But that's the idea, it's a different blade compared to a cut-focused one, be it a sword or a sidesword.
@Swurv__ Bro, what do you mean she wasn't hot? π€¨
Late 1990s male human brains came with a special dealiasing function that filled in the gaps.
That may sound impressive, but it was a downgrade compared to the brain model from the early 80s... Custer's Revenge. π
@ilyse_the_beast@freudiana_gamer How many old people will buy this game? We are not, and should not be the audience if you want to sell a game.
And I reject the idea that young people should find old people attractive because of some marketing spin.
(& I lash out since this annoys me and I can't block it)
2/2
@ilyse_the_beast@freudiana_gamer I am with you, I will reject it mainly due to the swordplay, 3s air time, plus seeing a two-handed version of a spatha from 400AD. I'm not interested in this type of combat.
But I hate, HATE, the gaslighting being done...

@SkyriderXiii@christi05430996 This meme reminded me I need to do laundry! π
The PS5 logo reminded me I need to burn money. π
(who will pay $70-90 for this?)
@Gadgetgirlkylie@christi05430996 "This just reminds me of Aloy all over again... Donβt play it then π€·ββοΈ"
But Aloy in the second game was ugly. π
It made me lose interest in even picking up the first one... had it returned on Steam (since I could)... I'm not in the mood for disingenuous agendas in my games. π
Last, it's interesting that they focus so much on the cavalry/infantry separation, before anything else.
It shows that in the age of the car, we have lost the importance of this perspective.
Indeed, two swords may look the same, but the balance can feel different for cavalry.
Let's see how Italians call swords, compared to how I (English users) would... I'll try to show the pics with the info cards.
On the left: Spada da Fante, c.1630
Translation: Infantryman/Infantry Sword
On the right: Spada da Cavallo, c.1625-1650
Translation: Horse/Cavalry Sword
Striscia = strip, streak, ribbon... can be used to denote a narrow blade.
We even see elsewhere: Spada da Lato a Striscia, so Streak-Sidesword.
I would actually like to use this for later sideswords that have a narrower blade optimised for the thrust. Something like this c.1600
