You will not always get credit for the work you put in. Some seasons are just about building, not being seen. But character built in private always shows up in public eventually. Keep your standards high even when nobody is watching. Especially when nobody is watching.
Dear Young Professionals,
Do you know what you’re worth?
I got about 5 employment offers in 2020. One of them reads: "Dear Richard, following your performance at the interview with our Managing Partner, you have been offered employment with our firm as a SENIOR CONSULTANT". Meanwhile, I applied as an Associate.
Anyways, after reading through the terms and conditions of the offer, I also drafted a counteroffer requesting for an additional 50% increase in the salary. After some back and forth, I eventually rejected the offer.
Two weeks later, I got another offer that was more than 150% of my pay at the time.
LESSON:
Even if they don't know your worth, let them know you do. Just like Dalai Lama said “With realization of one’s own potential and self-confidence in one’s ability, one can build a better world.”
Rejection can become something you learn to live with, to the point where you almost miss the moment when the congratulatory email finally arrives.
But at that moment, one "yes" makes all the months of "no"s worth it, proving that perseverance truly pays off.
Showing up to a Web3 conference as a beginner can feel like learning a new language.
But today’s sessions on decentralized infrastructure really clicked. I’m ready to dive deeper.
Thanks to @DUKETHAGREAT
Web3 veterans out there,What that you wish you knew when you 1st started?
It may look difficult, but try it. Don’t say yes to the first offer. Get used to negotiating until you get what you want. Someone just offered me a piece of work I wouldn't do. It adds no value to me, and I will be adding exactly no additional value to it. So my response was a capital NO! And then I gave them options that made sense to me, to which they said YES! I am not a victim, and I do not play to the requests that are not optimised to serve me.
