It’s not always easy, but it certainly isn’t complicated:
- envision your ideal self
- what do they do, think, feel, etc?
- how do they act? How to they sustain their way of life?
- articulate their way of living, their systems and behaviors
- start doing those today
- relinquish your will to your ideal self. Let them reign. Stop debating and deciding.
You will become them.
Start today.
Alive yourself.
People who embody a meaningful life:
- Enjoy pondering deep questions
- Pursue romance
- Focus on others
- Find of build their “calling” in life
- Are moved by beautiful things
- Leverage suffering to grow
What do you do best?
It’s ironic that we both think too much and not enough.
Too much on:
- technical steps/execution
- how to’s for success
- anxious thoughts
- what we don’t have
- what we can’t do
- disbelief and doubts
Not enough on:
- who we want to be
- what’s possible
- what we have
- what we can do
- what we believe
- where we want to go in life
Do you want to find more of what matters; what you’re missing?
Stop filling every waking moment with noise/information. Create space for silent, deep pondering or prayer. Do it sitting, walking, or driving.
Perspective/framing is everything. Start with purpose, meaning, identity, vision.
Ground in them daily with silent thoughts and envisioning work. It only takes 10-20 minutes when the groundwork has been laid.
Then move on to alignment planning (5% of your time) and execution (95% of your time)
If you don’t, you’re going to keep spinning your wheels and falling off the path.
Last thought: alignment to these deeper themes isn’t just about direction.
It brings hope, energy, and belief.
These are essential ingredients to your success.
This is what you’re missing.
@DearMe1210 For me, choosing peace looks like loosening my grip on the outcome and holding my goals with open hands 🤲
I tend to get so excited and into an idea that I get stuck worried about if I can do it or not.
Let that go. Work to pull the bow back, but then release the arrow.
Good thoughts.
For me, I used to dial behaviors that took away from my potential to a “neutral” position, thinking of them as not blatantly harmful (scrolling, games, etc)
Now I label them as negative since they are more subtle and addictive to me.
They are a form of escape that I am no longer inclined to indulge in
