Such an inspiring and thought provoking #CoastRNetwork training retreat!
I learnt a lot on how to facilitate dialogue, the great work Coast-R researchers are doing and I shared lessons learnt within the @SMMR_UK funded project “Resilient Coasts: Optimising Co-Benefit Solutions”
@ThroughTheGaps@NathandeRoz@The_MMO@CF_Conf During the conference we heard from Mike Cohen, from the National Federation of Fishermen's Organisation, he raised very clear points that are also in their websites. In case you are interested, you can have a look at that
What a fantastic afternoon at #CoastalFutures25 exploring @The_MMO ’s marine spatial board game! Always a great learning experience stepping into someone else's shoes. Also, awesome to reunite with my poster co-authors 🤟🏻 Reach out if you’re interested in our work!
@CF_Conf
@NathandeRoz@ThroughTheGaps@The_MMO@CF_Conf Yes, it is all exactly about that, having the right players in the room! In this case, the game was used during a conference about coastal futures just to give a taste of what it looks like to people that were there.
@NathandeRoz@ThroughTheGaps@The_MMO@CF_Conf I agree with you. I think the game was developed to make sure that everybody can understand the complexity of marine planning and discuss possible options for and with everybody. I think the use of games just helps to understand other’s point of view and creates a dialogue.
“There is passion for change, we can be brave…we are in this together”! What a great start from @AislingLannin here at the #CoastalFutures25 ! Looking forward to hearing all the great speech in the next two days.
👉And come to visit us at the posters’ room!

Our incredible panel, chaired by BBOWT Chief Exec @EstelleBBOWT, features...
Session4 panelist Mike Morecroft @NaturalEngland highlights there is good evidence that NbS work for biodiversity & climate change in particular contexts but also evidence of failures - we need to understand which factors support success & to learn by doing #growingpositivechange
Great to hear some insights about previous UK Climate Change Risk Assessment plans by @KathrynABrown “simple things may have the biggest impact”! And, do we need to measure and give a value to everything? (Maybe not!)

Such an inspiring opening speech by @NathalieSeddon ! We need to change the whole system, to slow down and reconnect with nature 🌍
🎯During the conference we’ll co-create an action plan to scale up Natura Based Solutions for #COP30!
