Luc “Spoon” Stephen.

Luc Stephen pictured to the left. There’s a screenshot from a photo (next tweet) you probably seen earlier of Luc being hailed as the inspiration for Ronnie. Not true.

He is originally from Haiti, and migrated to the U.S. after several assassination attempts against his father occurred in Haiti during the Duvalier era. Coming up in Queens he played basketball for Andrew Jackson High School, then left for the streets after being kicked out from home.

Luc hustled on the infamous 150 St, a goldmine for dealers on the Southside, and where he met Lorenzo “Fat Cat” Nichols. Other than Pappy Mason who was Cat’s right hand, Luc was his left. Very calculated and known for his ability to make a profit with anything fast, Luc was crucial to the expansion of Fat Cat’s organization.

Luc Stephen was also Cat’s co-defendant in the 1985 arrest, which was the last time Cat was a free man. He went to trial with Cat in 1987, and did a 3.5-7 year bid as a result of his parole violation and the arrest. Luc got out in 1991, and took over the 40 projects, making over $40,000 a week before having to shut operations down due to being on the run.

After his final arrest, Luc Stephen was released in 2006. was immediately added as a consultant on BET’s “American Gangster,” which prompted him to start his film career. He currently works as a Director & Producer on documentaries, and independent feature films.
