Maybe the exact wording of the phrase and the place it was expressed in can be nitpicked, but the sentiment is simply true. If there’s a problem here, it’s the way the queer community views the concept of oppression/oppressors, not the true fact being expressed about white people

Pretty ridiculous to disagree with this tbh. It’s trivially true that white trans people are oppressors and whining about someone pointing that out won’t make anyone like you more, which is what the people complaining are actually upset about.

@SonogamiRinneTS That’s not to say that the Chinese government does or doesn’t do that, but I think they are cleverer and more subtle about it compared to figures like trump or other American conservatives. It causes people to believe anything else at all is better.

@SonogamiRinneTS Ultimately, I think the problem is mostly that we get very limited information and unless you investigate most of that information will be positive. Also, if you live in a country like America I think there is a desperation to not be very actively persecuted and harassed by govt

@electromechgirl I figured out quad tracks after hours of trial and error back when it first came out and then they changed it in an update and what I was doing stopped working and it somehow became significantly more incomprehensible. Stopped playing after that.

@wobbledawg This isn't accurate, as far as I'm aware. I think it's technically possible for transfeminine people to develop something vaguely similar in that uterine-like tissue can grow, but it's not the same as endometriosis and I only know of like two cases ever.

@barnfell @ClwnPrncCharlie This is definitely true. Someone pointed out elsewhere that nyc actually limits the size of the security deposit to one month of rent (which makes sense, I thought it was restricted last time I was in the market), so it probably just gets passed on in rent prices

The left will keep losing primaries, as it becomes more prevalent it will lose generals. But the generational turnover will not stop, the millennial and gen z insurgency will not stop believing in Medicare for All and Public University education just because we lose an election.

@beepboopsloane Part of my aversion comes from real examples of this occurring, for example San Francisco, where a large wave of apartment to condo conversions occurred. It was very controversial, because it negatively impacted renters, especially poorer renters.

@beepboopsloane I’m also a bit skeptical of your assertion that turning apartments into condos will reduce market rent costs. It will reduce housing costs by boosting supply of housing, but apartments and houses do not occupy the same market. They are not substitutes.
