Yesterday I nipped over to @transportgovuk to have a look at some #GBR branding development work. What's missing from the narrative of it being touted as a "brand reveal" is that it's more of a "look and feel": it certainly hasn't been finessed creatively yet. Reading between the lines yesterday is that these concepts will be developed by a GBR brand and marketing team; but since the org doesn't yet exist, and the people haven't yet been appointed, this is a loose starting point for them to work from.
It does feel like it could benefit from some further professional brand development work before it's rolled out across multiple environments and assets. But, some of these (what I think are intermediate stage) visuals are at @networkrailLBG London Bridge station this morning on display, and are at a few others around the network too.
BTW there's a @hornby model train (I assume a 80X unit) in the proposed livery, and you can drive a @dovetailgames Train Sim game, at LBG, from 11-2ish today, I'm told.
Good morning from Sheffield... And the very first Hitachi #Class810 'Aurora' units is here and ready to roll. Doing the honours this morning is 810010, which will be doing 1C17 Sheffield to London St Pancras International. #Class810#EastMidlandsRailway
I have to say, these are some very nice trains!
Clean, Spacious & Modern, something the Midland Mainline has been lacking for years.
Whilst the IETs have had their issues in terms of seat comfort, i have to say the standard class seats are very nice! And I really like them!
In terms of the interior, they are absolutely the best Class Hitachi train out there. It's not even a competition! The lighting is spot on, the colours are warm and inviting, it just looks and feels the part.
Great to see the first @EastMidRailway “Aurora” in service this morning, with 810010 working the 07.00 Sheffield-St Pancras and then due to work the 11.32 STP-SHF, 14.00 SHF-STP, 17.05 STP-NOT, 19.13 NOT-STP & 21.32 STP-SHF today.More about the new fleet of 810s in the next TR UK
The UK has dropped to its lowest position ever (22nd) on the @ILGAEurope ranking of the best and worst places to be LGBTQ+ in Europe.
Ten years ago, it ranked in first place.
Our government must reverse, not further, this shocking decline in LGBTQ+ rights.
Wes Streetings decision to ban puberty blockers should be called out for what it is.
He's playing culture wars where trans & non binary youth are collateral damage & Labour dance to Reforms tune.
An attack on trans people is an attack on our LGBTQ+ community. We must say no.
I liked Louise Haigh and thought she was an excellent Transport Secretary. I’m sad she had to resign. I hope her clarity of vision is picked up by her replacement. Transport, and public transport in particular, is way too important to this government to drop off the agenda.
> Ends decades of rain privatisation

@greensignallers I listened to your explanation of the Northern Rail debacle this afternoon. Your description of the Rest Day Agreement as “good news” made me smile.
Lessons from the past suggest it will turn out to be “good news” only for the train drivers. 1/9
