#OnThisDay 1922 Ulster Special Constabulary shot dead three men in Cushendall, Antrim. This was in response to the assassination of Sir Henry Wilson. The deceased were John Gore (22), James McAllister (18) & John Hill (26). No Specials were prosecuted for this.

#OnThisDay 1922 Sir Henry Wilson, ex-head of British Army & Unionist politician, was assassinated by two IRA men (both WW1 vets) at his home in London. Wilson's death helped Westminster to pressure Collins to start shelling the IRA garrison in the Four Courts.
