2/10/54, the day my father took me to Maine Road to see City beat Everton, 1-0. I was 7 and he put me on a Kippax tunnel wall with his arm round me and I was captivated. Roy Clarke scored at the Platt Lane end and I can still see the goal in my mind's eye.

@CityOnACard1 @RodneyMarsh10 55 years for me. The 1969 Cup Final and a victory. Coach suffered a smashed windscreen on the way and we had to wait for a replacement. Thought we were going to be late but made it with 30 minutes to spare.

@owainroderick1 When we won the FA Cup in 1969, we played Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on the way in an evening fixture. The roads were so clogged with City fans that my coach was delayed and I didn't get in the ground until half-time when we were 0-2 up. I think we won 0-4.

@owainroderick1 Dad, and I was 7. It was 2/10/54 (thanks to t'Internet) and he set me down on the Kippax tunnel, wall with his arm round me, at what was the scoreboard end. We beat Everton, 1-0 (Roy Clarke).

@owainroderick1 I also just had the basic Subbuteo kit played on a table that was slightly too narrow for the pitch. I once played a full season of City games, home and away, keeping a record of the players and making team changes according to 'form' and 'injuries'. Happy days.

@owainroderick1 I played Owthat for hours as a kid and have still got the old small metal case and rollers. The modern iteration is plastic and poor in comparison.

@peter_akister @FBAwayDays I remember the big freeze of 1963 when matches were called off week after week and the Pools Panel was introduced. Suffering from City withdrawal symptoms, I think the first match that became available in my area was at Boundary Park and I went along but it was soooo cold.
