Judicial Watch sued for the release of Obama’s 2 hour interview with the FBI as well as Rahm Emanuel, Obama’s Chief of Staff and Valerie Jarrett and Senior Advisor to Obama. The FBI has continued to hide the interviews in an obvious attempt to protect Obama.

It’s the Rod Blagojevich case, former Illinois governor caught on FBI tapes trying to sell President Obama’s vacated Senate seat back in 2008. Obama sat down for a roughly two-hour FBI interview that December, and they wrote up the usual FD-302 summary. That document’s never been released, not to Blagojevich’s lawyers during his trials, not through FOIA lawsuits, nothing. It’s been locked down through the Obama and Biden years, almost 18 years now.

The Newsmax piece points out there’s a direct conflict: a union leader who testified said Obama passed preferences for the Senate pick through him, but Obama publicly swore he and his people had zero involvement in any deals. Those two stories can’t both be true, so a lot of people want to see what Obama actually told the FBI.
Blago got pardoned by President Trump last year, but the 302’s still buried. The article’s basically calling on the current DOJ to let it out and let people see for themselves.

President Trump has said he believes Blagojevich was set up by the same people who targeted him, the FBI and prosecutors he calls corrupt. He called the whole thing a “terrible injustice” and said Blago served enough time.
He also knew him a bit from Celebrity Apprentice, thought he was a nice guy, and liked that he became a big supporter. Trump first commuted his sentence in 2020, then gave the full pardon earlier this year.
The secrecy around Obama’s FBI interview fits right into that, President Trump sees it as more proof the system was rigged against people.
