It was a momentous day for #Rainham and #Medway as the Splashes ground-breaking took place. It's so important to have leisure pool provision for the health and wellbeing of Medway's children and families along with all wider benefits of this excellent facility. Roll on summer 24!
Happy 250th birthday America! ๐บ๐ธ I had the privilege to see the 'Big Boy' train a few weeks ago as it travelled on its way from California to Philadelphia for the July 4th celebrations. It was awesome to see it up close and to be among so many people with pride in their country.
A great trip to Canada and Ohio with adventures in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, and Cedar Point, and great to see my friends' home town in Ohio. Really amazing hospitality everywhere we went. ๐บ๐ธ๐จ๐ฆ
What a brilliant day representing the Medway Japan Association at the Hempstead Fayre. It was great to have such enthusiastic support from the public and local leaders for the student exchange programme and the work we do promoting Medwayโs special links with Japan. ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฏ๐ต
An iconic image concludes an historic visit by Their Majesties to New York City.
On the third day of their State Visit to honour the American people in their 250th year, King Charles III and Queen Camilla paid tribute at the @911Memorial, toured an urban farm run by @HarlemGrown, explored our shared history and literary heritage at the The New York Public Library (@nypl), attended a business and trade event focusing on the depth and breadth of US-UK economic ties at Rockefeller Center, and celebrated the power of US-UK cultural partnerships with The King's Trust USA.
Today, Their Majesties continue their State Visit in Virginia.

A very enjoyable Brogdale Hanami Festival representing the Medway Japan Association. Please to say a good amount of funds were raised to support our annual student exchange. ๐ฌ๐ง๐ฏ๐ต
A good day on the doorsteps getting the vote out for Charlie Leys in the Cliftonville by-election. I have to say the place looked particularly beautiful in the warm sunshine today.
Best of luck to Charlie for tonight after a hard-fought campaign! ๐
It's very sad to see Trish closing Rainham Sewing Centre after 31 years, but great to see the shop busy for her last day of trading. I worked closely with her on the Town Centre Forum, and it was great to join the retirement party and wish her all the best for the future.
Great to be out in the community yesterday in Rainham with Councillors Joy and Anang @Kaamartei, and @MartinMPotter delivering our leaflet with the good work the Conservative councillors have been doing in the ward.
A good day out to see @SpursOfficial, apart from the football that is. Despite the fans getting behind the team and creating a great atmosphere, the result was bitterly disappointing. If things don't change fast we are going down! ๐ข
A by-election has been called in Cliftonville after a Reform councillor was jailed for appalling coercive behaviour and threats of violence against his wife.
Local people deserve better.
Thatโs why I was out today supporting Charlie Leys - a hardworking community champion!
It was great to have former 1922 chairman Lord Graham Brady visit our association this week. I really enjoyed chatting over dinner, and his anecdote filled speech was very well received. Very pleased to have a signed copy of his book to read on holiday!
