@kimmonismus Viscosity of the water is inconsistent and the ripple causality is wrong. Plus physiology a giant cephalopod - I imagine that an octopus that big would be acclimatised to a higher pressure environment and so would look rather more ‘squishy’ at sea level! So it’s AI.
@Tojiro Oh for sure, you’re right! I think this is something that’ll have to change in later Vision Pro models but we’re a way off that yet and in the meantime Apple knows how to keep the wall up on a walled garden 🙂
@Tojiro I picked up on this as soon as they mentioned the eye tracking privacy in the keynote. It basically locks out cloud-based rendering with efficient compression during streaming to put the greatest detail where the user is looking.
I agree; headsets are fundamentally isolating not just because they're on your face (I don't want to film my child's birthday wearing one, ta) but 'cause the price tag is *per person* so, indeed, TimCook's point comparing the cost of AppleVisionPro to a TV rig is fallacy #WWDC23
Lots of chatter around the Apple VisionPro, with many great features. One downside, creating solo experiences in social spaces.
People buy $5K TVs so they can watch together in their homes. How many $3.5K HMDs will you want to buy to have that same home experience? @apple
Unity apps running natively on Apple Vision Pro; dedicated app store for Vision Pro apps (which will also include compatible iOS apps) #WWDC23.
Apple's efforts to keep the headset under wraps will have slowed down all the whizzy gaming things that devs will do with this platform
2 hour battery life with the external battery pack. That would barely get me through some meetings, let alone some classic movies that top 150 minutes #WWDC23
It's interesting that Apple Vision Pro looks like a credible productivity device in its first generation (not just a dev device). This is what Meta were aiming for with the Quest Pro. People balked at the price of that. Let's see what they say about the Vision Pro's RRP! #WWDC23
'Perfect for when you're working remote' - I'm curious to know how long its comfortable to wear an Apple Vision Pro headset for. I doubt I could get through a working day on one! #WWDC23
Apple and Disney's dynamic is intrinsically tied to Steve Jobs' relationship with Disney. The cool 3D demos are just teasers. The Vision Pro is starting out as a pretty 2D device but that's going to change relatively rapidly over the next 12-24 months, I think
I'm struck that the Apple Vision Pro primarily feels like a 2D media consumption device. Also, spatial videos sound great, but I don't want to attend my child's birthday whilst wearing a headset. #WWDC23
@Apple Vision Pro input model for spatial computing: requires no additional hardware, just eyes, hands and voice. Expect other UIs to follow. This is quite a big shift from most existing MR UIs #WWDC23
