@DrEricLevi General practitioners need to get that message loud and clear. At least look in the patient’s ear, feel the parotid glands and get a hearing test done …

@drkproudlove @DrEricLevi In 25 years of doing nasal surgery I have yet to see a case of empty nose syndrome. I do believe however that total inferior turbinectomy would raise that risk. That’s why I preserve the medial surfaces.

@DrEricLevi ‘Rhinitis of recumbency’ …. I’ve gone through all the iterations of turbinate reduction. Now I remove the turbinate bone and lateral mucosa, preserving the medial surface. Not an easy procedure, but works well.
