@AngryLevantine Besides, modern Levantine Arabs have a pretty strong connection to pre-exile Jews, the main difference between us and them is culture, which was radically different 2000 years ago anyway.
@AngryLevantine I personally don’t have an issue with this casting. These guys honestly do look Jewish (they’re not making a political statement on how we’re supposed to look) and using Jewish actors for a Christian film comes with its own set of issues.
@daveixd @HenMazzig 2/2 Using it as a talking point against political opponents, regardless of it helping Jews or not. Right wing antisemitism is overt, but left wing antisemitism is rarely seen for what it is, given the left’s reputation for justice. This is dangerous and must be stamped out.
@daveixd @HenMazzig 1/2 I don’t think equivalence is the point. I’ve followed @HenMazzig for a long time and he’s clear that he himself is a progressive and wants nothing to do with maga. The problem is that both sides of the political spectrum only see antisemitism as an issue when it involves
@daveixd @HenMazzig Besides, do you really think the latest attacker, an Arab Muslim, is a Qanon type Trump supporter? Trump is incredibly prejudiced against Muslims! We have to understand that both the right and the left’s actions fuel hate, and it doesn’t have to be a competition.
@daveixd @HenMazzig While I agree that the right has a serious issue with anti demotion, that doesn’t take away from the fact that the “progressive” left’s total demonization of Israel (going beyond criticism of the government and villifying civilians) is a strong contributor to rising antisemitism
