NEW: Hundreds of thousands of dollars were stolen from NASCAR legend Greg Biffle's accounts very soon after he and his family died in a plane crash in North Carolina.

Authorities now believe that the fraud and robbery may have been an "inside job."

Biffle went viral during Hurricane Helene for helping stranded people.

According to investigators, someone used Biffles' personal info to access his financial accounts and transferred funds.

Almost immediately after the tragedy that killed Biffle, his wife, and his children, suspicious activity began taking place on his family's email accounts and bank accounts. This included changes to emails, phone numbers, and passwords, according to WSOC TV.

Just hours after the plane crash, an email was sent to Biffle's email account that said: "I heard you're dead, rest in hell."

His home was also robbed. $30,000 in cash, handguns, and NASCAR memorabilia were stolen.

Detectives say that the burglary and fraud may have been coordinated and reliant on "insider" knowledge.

According to surveillance footage, a woman is seen walking through his home. She appeared to know where the security cameras were placed.

Detectives claim to have identified someone who matches the woman's description. She was reportedly identified during a celebration of life ceremony for the Biffle family.

Homeland Security Investigations and ICE descended on Minneapolis Monday, going door-to-door at suspected fraud sites days after Nick Shirley's 42-minute video exposed what appears to be widespread daycare fraud.

Attorney General Pam Bondi dropped the hammer:

"The Justice Department has been investigating this for months.

So far, we have charged 98 individuals – 85 of Somali descent – and more than 60 have been found guilty in court. We have more prosecutions coming… BUCKLE UP, LAWMAKERS!"

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem posted video of agents questioning individuals outside buildings.

ICE's message:

"The American people deserve answers on how their taxpayer money is being used and ARRESTS when abuse is found."

FBI Director Kash Patel surged additional personnel and resources to "dismantle large-scale fraud schemes exploiting federal programs."

Education Secretary Linda McMahon called it a "breathtaking failure that has happened under the watch" of Governor Walz.

The White House reposted her statement.

Shirley's take:

"The fraud is so obvious a kindergartner could figure out that there is fraud going on."

One independent journalist with a camera accomplished what Minnesota's entire state government couldn't, or wouldn't.

In Khan Younis, Hamas operatives were filmed entering a tunnel and later emerging with what they claim is the body of a hostage.

They say it's being prepped for handover to the Red Cross - but not before parading it through the streets to a cheering crowd.

The tunnel was under the Hamad neighborhood, one of Gaza’s key underground hotspots.
