Do the Nördlinger Ries and Steinheim Basin in southern Germany represent an impact crater doublet? We don't think so.
Happy to be part of this new paper with Elmar Buchner and Volker Sach!

Interesting new paper by Tada et al. on the 790 kyr-old "Australasian" impact event - one of the big mysteries in Earth's recent geologic history. Are we (finally) moving closer to the actual crater?

Interesting new possible asteroid impact site off the West African coast!

@PeterBJames Marquez Dome shatter cones as in-your-face evidence for asteroid impact. They are truly spectacular (although the '#crater' landscape they occur in isn't). My hands, but photo by my friend David Rajmon.
Very honored to co-author this new open-access paper about the asteroid and (micro-)meteorite flux to Earth over the past 500 million years with Birger Schmitz and his team!

Just saw a cool new paper about secondary impact craters on Earth:

Celebrating 10 years of https://t.co/rU7DwCjoFW with a significant expansion of ECMWF plots, a fresh coat of (optional) paint, and a new partnership.

@TsunamiSand@BSG_Geomorph@BVIDDM@SFUCoastalHaz @otaidatiff @spmitchell1996 This is very interesting! I recall seeing a strongly altered outline of Barbuda island post-Irma. I also wonder how Hurricane Dorian (2019) may have impacted the Grand Bahama landscape and biosphere; it had stalled and sat there as a cat 5 for over 24 hours...
@Cygni_18 This is exciting! I was lucky enough to see the James Webb Telescope inside NASA's Johnson Space Center, Houston a couple years ago. #Houston#NASAWebb
