Kathy Hochul went on Morning Joe to defend New York’s new ban on local police working with ICE.

The law just took effect and already has sheriffs in multiple counties refusing to comply. They say it prevents them from turning over illegal immigrants who have committed crimes.

Local cops should be able to work with federal immigration authorities when public safety is at stake. This policy does the opposite.
